Wells Art Contemporary 2025: Wells Skatepark fundraising auction

Glastonbury's Heart of The Tribe Gallery is teaming up with Wells Art Contemporary to help raise money for a new skatepark in Wells. W.A.C has been asked by Cllr Louis Agabani, Mayor-elect for Wells, to assist with a fundraising project for the new skatepark, inviting artists to paint/decorate and donate a skate deck for the project. A selection of these decks will be exhibited in Wells Cathedral during the Wells Art Contemporary exhibition 2025 and the individual decks will be auctioned online in late 2025 to raise money for the new skatepark.

Wells Cathedral receives around 18,000 visitors each month and the WAC exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday 8 October to Saturday 1 November. Wells Art Contemporary is in its fourteenth year. It is an open competition and exhibition which attracts over 3000 entries from at least 30 different countries. It comprises a Gallery show, with work displayed on white boards in the cloisters, and an installations show, with work displayed in the body of the cathedral, the cloisters, and the surrounding external spaces. All skateboards will be included in an online catalogue even if they are not selected to feature in the Cathedral exhibition.
