Our Story
Founded with a passion for making the arts accessible to all, Heart of The Tribe in Glastonbury is a vibrant community art gallery dedicated to supporting and showcasing local & national talent.
Gallery owner Julian Clark envisioned a hub where artists and art lovers could converge, leading to the gallery's opening in August 2020. Initially established to bolster the local creative community, the gallery now provides a clean and professional space for exhibitions, featuring contemporary artists primarily from Somerset.
The gallery has several exhibition rooms, an award-winning garden, and a versatile event space available for public hire. In addition to representing numerous Somerset-based artists, the gallery strives to exhibit new artists throughout the year, maintaining an inclusive ethos that offers both emerging and established artists a platform to shine.
Each year, Heart of The Tribe hosts a Winter Open, providing opportunities for all artists to exhibit in a professional environment and embark on their journey in the art world. Celebrating community projects like the Glastonbury Mural Trail, the gallery emphasies the importance of free access to visual arts within a rural environment.
With an exciting diary of exhibitions for 2025, Heart of The Tribe is thrilled to see in their fifth year. Our gallery aims to inspire and galvanise visitors, encouraging them to broaden their creative horizons and expand their visual landscapes.

“Heart of the Tribe is an art gallery focusing on local artists, capturing the spirit of this special location while offering a contemporary alternative to the usual themes of the high street.
Our building like our brand, is deceptively deep - we have several exhibition rooms and an award-winning garden out back. Pop in for a complimentary tea or coffee and enjoy”
