Chris Parkin
Also known as Christophski, a self-taught linoprint artist based in Stockton-on-Tees. After a long break from making art, Parkin rediscovered his creative side during the first UK lockdown through the #ArtfulDailyChallenge, which quickly reignited his love of drawing and visual storytelling. Just over a year later, he discovered linocut and found what he describes as his true medium.
Working primarily in his spare time, between a career in accounting and performing as half of a husband-and-wife music duo, Parkin has developed a distinctive linocut practice. He values the meditative, hands-on nature of the process and often shares that making art has played a vital role in supporting his mental health.
Parkin’s work is a personal expression, often reflecting his humour, musicality, and everyday observations. His work has evolved through challenges like creating self-portraits and exploring identity through image-making, showing both introspection and joy.
Whether printing, playing guitar, or singing, Parkin brings such warmth to everything he creates, proving that it’s never too late to reconnect with your creativity.
