ROMA MAY

A freelance illustrator from Southsea, Romas work is inspired by nature, ritual, and folklore. She works both digitally and by hand creating detailed images full of life.

“My inspirations an interests are much of the same things. I find the natural world the most influencing element for my work, and find fathomless inspiration and beauty within nature. My work also often incorporates concepts of decay, growth and balance, whilst frequently including imagery of flora and fauna and organic shapes. Most of my illustrations are created through a freehand process, often without composition planning and allowing my brain and hand to flow. I am currently working on expanding my designs and have been creating bespoke products using high quality materials and methods, whilst pursuing a career as an Art Teacher, and maintaining my freelance illustrator status.”
