Our Story

Heart of The Tribe began with a simple idea: to create a place where people could connect through art.

Opened by Julian Clark in August 2020, our gallery on Glastonbury’s High Street brings together contemporary art, a welcoming atmosphere and a garden where visitors can pause and explore. We champion artists from Somerset alongside voices from further afield, giving emerging and established artists space to share their work.

That spirit extends beyond our exhibition rooms. Through our Open Call, workshops and support for projects such as the Glastonbury Mural Trail, we help create opportunities to make, discover and experience art.

Whether you’re choosing your first artwork, following a favourite artist or simply curious about what’s behind the mural, you’re welcome here.

“Art has the power to shape social narratives and change lives. It has been central to my own healing journey, and I hope Heart of The Tribe offers others a space to discover that same transformative power. To me, the gallery itself is an artwork - not just the building, but the people who bring it to life. Our artists, staff and guests all form part of its tapestry.”
