VINYL & VALOUR

An exhibition and Charity auction to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West

We’re honoured to be hosting this fantastic collection of work. With 60 different artists contributing to the exhibition, it is a truly amazing display.

In honour of the late John Mason, artists from far and wide have painted, drawn on and created work using old vinyl records (that would otherwise have ended up in landfill) as their canvas. Seasoned artists, children, friends and everyone inbetween. With over 60 pieces of art on display - we hope to raise a whole bunch of money for Children’s Hospice South West. Continuing the work that our friend John Mason was known for.

John Mason was a formidable local character, who lived a colourful life. A kind and interesting man with a big heart. An artist, a photographer, an actor and a member of the Fellowship of the Round table, of King Arthur. He brought people together and encouraged creativity in his own way.

He put a lot of time and energy into raising money for good causes and raised over £10,000 for Children’s Hospice South West before his untimely death earlier this year.

All the records will be part of an online auction via the website galabid.com.

Bidding for each record starts at just £10 so this is an opportunity to get yourself a unique bit of original art for an absolute bargain. There are over 60 to choose from.

The Fellowship of the Knights of the Round Table of King Arthur may sound grand, but its ethos is very simple; friendship, kindness, service & helping others. There is history, tradition and ceremony, also courage, loyalty, compassion and generosity. Alongside fellow member Fiona Rainbird-Clarke, John had the idea for the Vinyl & Valour exhibition to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.

Children’s Hospice South West is a Charity that helps care for babies, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as the families around them. It is more than just medical care, their 3 locations in Devon, North Somerset and Cornwall provide specialist care, short breaks, emergency end of life care, alongside support for parents, brothers and sisters. And every penny pledged to this auction will go towards helping them.
