Emma Housley
Emma Housley is a Bristol-based artist whose abstract paintings explore vivid colour, sensory experience, and the dynamic energy of water, swimming, and sunlight. Her expressive use of acrylics and mixed media allows her to experiment with texture and movement, embracing the fluidity and unpredictability of the painting process. Emma’s work is driven by an intuitive approach, capturing the essence of a moment rather than a literal representation, inviting viewers to engage with the emotions and sensations embedded within each piece.
Having studied at Warwick University and Cyprus College of Art, Emma developed a distinctive palette influenced by Mediterranean colours and light. She recently achieved a First in her Master’s in Fine Art at Bath Spa University and continues to exhibit regularly across the South West, including in Bristol and Frome. Living in Bristol provides her with a rich source of inspiration, balancing the energy of urban life with the tranquillity of the surrounding landscape.
