Scyanna

£195.00

Artist Penelope O’Gara

Vintage silk, net & jewellery; wool & wire

16cm H x 20cm W

Scyanna once dared write a poem, even though she was told that such pursuits were not for girls. She saw her brothers labouring over their writing, sweating & swearing as they laboured to complete the tasks set by their tutor; yet verse flew from her pen with such frequent fluency that she was tempted to share. Poor foolish Scyanna – wrapped in a cloak of feathers such as was gifted to true bards in an attempt to shame her. But blessed Scyanna, too, swept up by the fae & turned into a swan to share her grace for ever more.
