Gallery Launch & Opening of DIVERSITY Exhibition
Sunday saw us celebrating the opening of our new Gallery in Glastonbury with the Private View of our first ever exhibition Diversity. It turned out to be a beautiful evening enjoyed with fabulous company. We are especially grateful to our guests who respected social distancing guidelines, wore masks inside when not eating or drinking, and followed our one-way viewing system.
Our private view was made memorable by the contributions of the following people: Nina Jane for our beautiful flowers, Sam Welbourne for the music, Buzz and Andy for the delicious food, Mowbarton Estate and Glastonbury Ales for the drinks, James Manning for the event photography and Mickey Richardson Productions for our video.
On Monday we opened our doors to the public for the first time. It has been an interesting journey and an honour to become part of the renowned Glastonbury High Street. We have been overwhelmed by the positive response we have received during this first week and look forward to our communal creative journey. The Diversity Show includes work from all of our Core artists who work in a wide variety of styles and mediums. It will run until the end of October so there is plenty of time to come and see the work on display.
Because the focus of the Heart of the Tribe is to build and support local community, we want to remind Glastonbury and Somerset residents about the opportunities we offer. This autumn we are presenting a range of workshops for artists of all levels to hone their craft (social distancing enforced and group numbers limited; more information below). Anyone can join our Artist Directory provided they are local.
This winter’s show ‘Shape & Form’ will be drawing from our Artist Directory as well as our Core artists. The gallery also has spaces that can be hired for workshops, events and studio use.
Mad Alan and Adam Anarchy from Frank Harwood’s painting Fields of Avalon visited from London after a friend told them they were featured in the exhibition.
