Jon Minshull

Jon Minshull has a long-standing connection to Glastonbury, where his large-scale murals can be seen at the Goddess Hall, the Glastonbury Experience, and the Glastonbury Information Centre. Deeply inspired by the spiritual energy of the town and the surrounding Somerset Levels, Jon works on-site at Heart of the Tribe, embodying the gallery’s communal and creative ethos.

Originally from Staffordshire, Jon grew up on farms and developed an early fascination with the landscapes of Southern England. Trained in fine art, illustration, and design, he has taught and practiced widely across disciplines including mural work, interior design, and wildlife illustration. His artistic style is diverse—ranging from realism to symbolism—with recent works incorporating sacred geometry, animals, and multi-dimensional layering. His influences span Renaissance, Baroque, and Victorian periods, and include artists such as Velázquez, Klimt, Zorn, and the Symbolists.

Jon divides his time between Glastonbury and Costa Rica, where the lush jungle provides a dramatic counterpoint to the pastoral calm of Avalon. His art bridges these environments, exploring the universal themes of growth, decay, and consciousness. As he describes it, “everything is a manifestation of divine consciousness,” and through his work, he seeks to reveal the hidden connections between nature, spirit, and the cycles of life.
